To help maximize yield potential,
chemical treatment of some seeds is essential. Canola is a
good example of this. During the coating process, flowable
formulations of seed treatments are used by thoroughly mixing
them with a liquid adhesive. In order to be coated, every seed
must be completely covered by the adhesive, which contains the
seed treatment. Therefore if the seed is coated, it must
contain the adhesive and the seed treatment that has been
combined with the adhesive. This in turn guarantees optimum
effectiveness from the seed treatment ensuring maximum
protection for the seedling.
