RHIZOSEAL® and
RHIZOSEAL®
PREMIUM
Inoculation is the introduction of nitrogen-fixing bacteria
(rhizobium) onto legume seed. These bacteria invade the root
hairs and form nodules which convert essential nitrogen from
the atmosphere into a form beneficial to plants.
Time after
time,
RHIZOSEAL®
and
RHIZOSEAL®
PREMIUM
prove that they are the superior pre-inoculation process
for forage legumes. Although the CFIA’s standard for
pre-inoculated forage legumes is 1,000 viable bacteria per
seed, our quality control program often shows RHIZOSEAL®
and
RHIZOSEAL®
PREMIUM
maintaining an average count well in excess of this
standard.
To the
alfalfa field planted with properly inoculated seed, the net
benefit can be between 100 and 200lb of nitrogen per acre
per year. |
For the
producer this means better establishment rates and higher
yields which increase profits.
RHIZOSEAL®
is the
result of research initiated in New Zealand in 1984 and
completed in Canada in 1990. Our North Battleford research
team developed the unique pre-inoculation process, which
gives
RHIZOSEAL®
unsurpassed rhizobial survival properties. Further research
with RHIZOSEAL® coupled with new technology enabled
us to combine our unique pre-inoculation process with the
many benefits of the fungicide Apron® XL resulting in the
release of
RHIZOSEAL®
PREMIUM
in 2001.
This
revolutionary technology will ensure that the
RHIZOSEAL®
products
will continue to be the norm for legume pre-inoculation
requirements in the future.
