The principal business
of Precision Seed Coaters (PSC) is
to offer superior custom coating services
to
U.S.
seed companies.
The company is located in
Yuma,
Arizona,
where it is housed in a new 10,000 square foot
state-of-the-art coating facility designed by PSC
management.
Precision Seed coaters currently employs 5 full
time and up to 5 seasonal people.
The company owns all its coating processes which are
used to coat the following kinds of seed:

alfalfa & other legumes;

forage grasses;
-
turf grasses
(mainly Bermudagrass).
Coatings offered are:

a 33-50% (by weight) lime/phosphate coat for legumes and turf

Precision Seed Coaters acts as
a totally independent company with no links to any other seed houses.
Sales are generally made through personal contact by
senior management.
Custom coating customers are mainly large seed houses
located throughout the United States. However, a
significant portion of PSC coated products are consumed
by the international seed market.
Since commencing production in 1989 with a
single coated seed product, Precision Seed Coaters has
become one of the largest international seed coating
companies.
Ongoing research programs have yielded a full complement
of forage and turfgrass coated seed products designed to
meet the growing needs of producers around the world.
Each season, new inoculants, growth promoters, adhesives
and fertilizers are tested in our laboratory facilities
and promising materials are incorporated into our coated
seed products.
While alfalfa and bermudagrass seed coatings
dominate our market and we are particularly concerned
with seed treatment application methods other fields of
research are of paramount importance to us.
Our Rhizoseal® and Rhizoseal® Premium coatings are the
result of many years of intensive research, culminating
in the commercialization of this superior
pre-inoculation process.
Rhizoseal® Premium was developed to further enhance the
benefits of our Rhizoseal® products. |
